Tom Werber graduated from film school (the London College of Communication) in 2004 and started his career as an editor. He went on to cut many shorts and assist on several feature films, including Cockney vs Zombies, directed by Matthias Hoener. In 2010 he edited his first feature film: Booked Out, directed by Bryan O’Neil. He continues to build his career as an editor while pursuing a career in directing.
Tom had an unorthodox education; traveling with his father’s theatre productions and learning to draw with his mother, a painter. He started creating animation at home at an early age.
In 2010 he directed his first animated music video: Flush, for Losers: It went viral, receiving over 50,000 hits on Youtube in the first month. The video has shown in many international festivals including Encounters in the UK, Fest Anca in Slovakia, the Ottowa International Animation festival in Canada and Anima in Belgium. It has shown across the UK as part of the BBC’s Big Screens programme and showed at BFI Southbank as part of BUG. The video has featured in DVD collections by international design magazines Aesthetica, IdN and Stash.
Tom has since directed music videos and commercials, signing to London-based production company Annex Films as a director.
Tom is writing and currently has several projects in development, including a short film which he hopes to produce in 2012 and a feature film.
